A stone-built former farmhouse, dating from 1714, which nestles between the River Aire and Leeds-Liverpool Canal. A celebrated community pub, The Abbey showcases a selection of predominantly local ales and usually includes a dark beer. Four ciders are available from Lilley's and Weston's. Also available is a range of keg beers, wines and and a great selection of spirits. The Abbey bustles with friendly locals throughout the week with a folk night on Tuesday and quizzes on Thursday (music) and Sunday (general knowledge). Ample seating outside attracts dog walkers, cyclists and families. An annual beer and music festival is held on the first weekend in July. The pub is accessible by road from Pollard Lane, Bramley and on foot over Pollard Bridge from Horsforth or along the canal from the Kirkstall Forge Train Station.
