Campaign for Real Ale

About Us

The Leeds branch was originally a spin-off of the West Riding branch and had its first ‘test support’ meeting at the Central Station (the pub of many names, Scruffy Murphy's, The Central, Phoenix Gastro Bar, Wellingtons, Editor's Draught...) in 1974. Over 100 supporters turned up!

From its original 100 supporters, Leeds CAMRA now has a membership of over 1,500, and has a calendar of events for everyone to join in with. Members are welcome to come along and share news about what’s happening beer-wise in the area. Then there's the odd social to a brewery, beer census shenanigans and pub crawls. Why not join us?

BEER LEEDS is the branch’s quarterly newsletter – look out for it in Leeds pubs to get all the latest news and views on local campaigns, breweries, pubs and the beery scene in general.

As well as enjoying a sherbet or two, we have a strong campaigning side, with a great track record of helping to save threatened pubs and help conserve those we have.
